Film & television editor Joaquin Elizondo in Los Angeles

Collaborating with fellow artists to shape a compelling story is at the core of why I love editing. I find fulfillment in taking on projects that push creative boundaries and challenge me to grow. I’m drawn to the fusion of artistry and technical expertise and enjoy exploring and experimenting with different approaches to amplify a narrative’s impact and emotional depth.

With over 20 years of professional editing experience, I have worked on everything from film & scripted television to documentaries to branded content.

Outside of work I enjoy traveling (Japan and Paris are favorite destinations), photography, meditating, running marathons, strength training, concerts, playing the drums, coffee, and dancing to vinyl records with my wife.

🤘🏽 I was the lead singer of a death metal band as a student at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!).

🎲 Martin Scorcese’s Casino was the first movie that truly inspired me to pursue a filmmaking career.

🎸 I’ve seen Pearl Jam in concert about 40 times.

🗣 Fluent in Spanish.

🎙️ I’m the creator and host of the Hollywood Editing Mentor Podcast.
